PI heating film low-temperature heating

Introduction to PI Heating Film: It is composed of two layers of polyimide film bonded through high-temperature hot pressing to form a resistive heating core. It has advantages such as good insulation, high temperature resistance, light weight, good flexibility, bendability of the heating film, good thermal conductivity, uniform heating, and long service life.

  • Structure: Polyimide film PI film, resistive heating element, polyimide film PI film, double-sided tape
  • Performance Introduction: Thermal Conductivity: ≥0.4 W/m·K, Flame Retardancy: Complies with UL 94 V-0 and GB/T 2408-2008 V-0
  • Temperature resistance: -40°C to 120°C, can withstand up to 150°C for a short period within 2 hours
  • Function: Paste on the side of the battery pack or wrap around the cell to heat the cell through conduction
  • Thickness range: thinnest 0.22±0.05mm

Composition of PI heating film

PI heating film can achieve efficient and uniform heating, and has good flexibility, reliability, and safety, making it suitable for a variety of different applications.

Conductive heating element: Usually made of metal foil (such as copper foil, aluminum foil) or metal wire and other materials. These metal materials have good electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity, so when electric current passes through, electrical energy can be quickly converted into thermal energy, thereby generating heat.

Polyimide film (PI film): Acts as the outer insulation layer, providing insulation and protection, while also possessing good thermal conductivity, allowing heat generated by conductive heating elements to be quickly and evenly dissipated. It has characteristics such as high-temperature resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties, and excellent electrical insulation performance.Electrode: Used to connect the conductive heating element to an external power source, allowing current to pass smoothly through the conductive heating element, thereby achieving the heating function. The material of the electrode usually needs to have good conductivity and welding properties.

Advantages of PI heating film:

These advantages of PI heating films make them widely used in thermal products (such as hand warmers, heated gloves, heated mouse pads, etc.), home appliances (such as electric oil-removal systems in range hoods, curling irons, hair straighteners, etc.), industrial equipment, instruments and meters, medical devices, new energy vehicles (such as battery pack and charging facility heating, steering wheel heating, rearview mirror heating, etc.), and defogging and defrosting for surveillance cameras, among many other fields.

  • Even Heating: The PI heating film provides surface heating with evenly distributed heat, allowing the object being heated to receive uniform warmth, avoiding local overheating or overcooling, and effectively improving the heating effect and product quality.
  • Soft material: Extremely soft with high flexibility, the minimum bending radius is only about 0.8mm, capable of adapting to surfaces of various complex shapes, such as curved pipes and irregular equipment, achieving close-fitting heating. It is also suitable for making flexible heating film elements with a very small area.
  • Energy Saving: With high thermal conversion efficiency, it consumes less electricity compared to other heating methods under the same heating effect, thereby saving energy.
  • Long service life: It has good stability and durability, can operate stably for a long time, reducing the frequency of replacement and maintenance, and lowering usage costs.
